Avi Tal (SPINE B7), born in 1986 in Beersheba, Israel to immigrant parents who escaped persecution in the collapsing Soviet Union, began his artistic journey with spray cans in 2002. Raised in a challenging environment, Avi found solace and self-expression in graffiti and BMX, experiences that deepened his connection to street culture. His early passion for graffiti evolved over time, blending technical mastery with creative vision, honed during a decade of building airplane models and studying aerodynamics and structural integrity.

A true multidisciplinary artist, Avi’s work spans oil painting, mixed media, statues, and graphic design. His ambition to create large-scale statues is reflected in his dedication to precision and form, which can be seen in every piece he creates. A pivotal moment in Be’er Sheva, where he transformed a legal setback into an opportunity to paint murals, ignited his love for large-scale art, shaping his future career.

From 2009 to 2012, while living in the Netherlands, Avi expanded his artistic horizons, pushing boundaries with more ambitious projects. In 2014, he partnered with the Neot Hovav Regional Council, transforming the industrial landscape of the Negev with over 2,500 sq.m of vivid murals. In his pursuit of excellence, Avi attempted a Guinness World Record, painting the 2,038 sq.m exterior of Dimona's soccer stadium.

Avi has curated numerous street art events across Israel, including a street art gallery at the Be’er Sheva Youth Center and rotating murals at Pub 40. His work was prominently featured at the POP-UP MUSEUM TLV in 2019, where he covered a four-story building’s facade with his distinctive style. In 2024, Avi broke new ground by becoming the first artist in Israel to paint a Sky-Van airplane with spray cans.

Beyond his large-scale projects, Avi’s community impact has been profound, particularly through his work in creating over ten memorial spaces for the Ethiopian community. His ultimate goal is to inspire the next generation through murals that transform public spaces and leave a lasting, positive impression. Avi’s work is central to Israel’s street art scene, where he continues to be commissioned for some of the country’s most prominent artistic endeavors.
